Both teams are strong and wants the title. But its Atletico Mineiro who wins. The match was a tremendous, both teams are giving all what they have got, when the time become shorts the game gone into extra time, when extra time also found short the game was then taken into penalties.

Atletico Mineiro lossos their first leg in Olimpia by 2-0. They are behind by 2 goals in the 2nd leg.

As the game start the pressure was on Atletico as they have to get a early goal. But it was all Olimpia's defence in first half although most of the possession was in Atletico's end.

After the 2nd half starts it was all Atletico. In the 46th minute JO converted a goal an all the groun got mad in celebrations.

After that goal Atletico tries several shots but couldn't convert them into goals. It was Ronaldinho who was encouraging his team so that he also gets into the special list and also if he could make his team to won the title for his team.

In the 86th minute Ronaldinho gets a free kick from around 25mitre from the goal. alleyes were on Ronaldinho if he could convert that free kick into goal but he fails and ball after striking the defender went towards Bernard who makes a beautiful cross and Alexendro who converts his header into far corner of the post.

After that finally extra time starts and Olimpia was playing with only 9 players as their 1 player got injured and one player got a two yellow card which means red card. Its all Atletico Miniero in extra time but Olimpia's defence was too good that with 9 players on the field the samba boys couldn't get a goal.

Now the game goes into the penalties.
Its Olimpia first who taken the first penalty.

Olimpia:- X O O O X

Its Victor who saved the first penalty and took his team into the lead.
After which none of the Atletico Player failed and wins the game.

It was Jo who gets the top goal scorer and gets the trophy.

Barcelona can again focus on soccer under Martino

Barcelona's swift decision to replace Tito Vilanova with Gerardo Martino is a bold move not without risk but should at least allow the players to refocus on football after the unwelcome distractions of recent months.

The Spanish champions announced on Friday that Vilanova, 44, was unable to continue because of the demands of his cancer treatment and the club said on Tuesday they had hired 50-year-old Argentine Martino, a former Newell's Old Boys coach in his native Rosario, on a two-year contract.

Barca's Argentina forward Lionel Messi is also from Rosario and the 26-year-old World Player of the Year, increasingly influential thanks to his phenomenal goalscoring record in recent years, reportedly had a hand in Martino's appointment.

The silver-haired former Newell's player is a self-confessed admirer of Barca's most successful coach, Pep Guardiola, who handed the reins to his friend Vilanova at the end of the 2011-12 season and is now at Bayern Munich.

Martino's football philosophy, rooted in ball possession and relying on players with outstanding technical ability, is considered a snug fit with Barca's playing style.

"My priority is possession," Martino said in an interview in May 2012, according to Barca's website.
"Attack, get a lot of players in the opposition half, take risks," he added.

Vilanova's debut season after succeeding Guardiola was a disappointment by Barca's high standards even though they wrested the La Liga title back from arch rivals Real Madrid with a record-equalling points haul.

Towards the end of the campaign, there was a sense some of the players had lost their focus because of Vilanova's illness.

He was away in New York having treatment for two months in February and March and although he was back on the bench for the end of the season Barca's Champions League campaign was brutally cut short by Bayern Munich.

The players seemed spent and barely put up a fight against the aggressive Bundesliga side in the two-legged semi-final and their 7-0 aggregate reverse was the club's worst in Europe by some distance.

COOL PROPERTIES

In recent weeks as Real began to regroup for next season under new coach Carlo Ancelotti, Barca's preparations were again overshadowed by the issue of Vilanova's health.

Guardiola, the club's most successful coach, accused the Barca board of using Vilanova's illness to damage him and the issue dominated media coverage for several days.

When it became clear Vilanova could not continue, president Sandro Rosell and sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta knew they had to move rapidly to fill the gap with the new La Liga season less than a month away.

Luis Enrique, a former Barca player who has just taken charge at Celta Vigo, was said to be in the running but they opted instead for Martino, a relative unknown in Europe but who won plaudits for taking Paraguay to the last eight of the 2010 World Cup.

Martino's link to Messi will help him settle and win the confidence of the other players, while in new signing Neymar he has one of the hottest properties in the game.

With Real having reinforced their squad with a couple of astute purchases and apparently recovering quickly from the turbulence of the Jose Mourinho years, Barca will have to be at the top of their game if they are to defend their La Liga title.

It is the Champions League that counts, however, and one of Martino's first jobs will be to make sure Barca find the centre back they need to strengthen the defence that let them down badly at times last season.

When the action starts, maintaining Barca's entertaining, attacking style while making sure the players are not bullied out of a match like they were against Bayern is likely to be his main challenge.

"I think he will fit in with our model," Barca's Spain midfielder Andres Iniesta told Marca on Tuesday. "Whatever the club decides is best for Barca."

Jones can play anywhere wherever Moyes wants

Long touted as a high-class central defender, at times Jones has been doing anything but occupying his favourite position i.e as a midfielder like he used to play in Blackburn.

None of his seven England caps have come in that preferred role, and Sir Alex Ferguson liked to use the former Blackburn man as a defensive screen in front of his back four.

Privately, Moyes has voiced his belief Jones will eventually slot into central defence and that was where the 21-year-old figured inTuesday 's 3-2 defeat to Yokohama F Marinos.

Yet Jones knows he could be moved about again once the important games start next month.
"I have said from day one I see myself as a centre-back," he said. "But if I am asked to play in midfield or at right-back I am happy to do so. As long as I am in the team, it doesn't matter whether I am in goal.

"Of course, towards the middle and end of my career I will want to start cementing a place in a certain position but at the moment I am happy."

Whether it be difficulties in bringing in new players, Wayne Rooney situation or a worrying groing injury collected by Robin van Persie during the first half of Tuesday's game, problems are piling up for Moyes.

On the transfers front, a move for Barcelona's Cesc Fabregas has stalled, Leighton Baines and Marouane Fellaini remain at Everton, Yohan Cabaye at Newcastle, and a seismic shift in the present situation would be required to secure the services of Gareth Bale or Cristiano Ronaldo.

Yet, inside the changing room, all is going well.

Insiders have confirmed Moyes' training regime has been impressive and while Jones could hardly be expected to say anything else under the circumstances, he reports a keen desire to succeed for the new boss.
"I am more than happy the new manager has come in," he said.

"He is a great manager. We all know what he has done that at Everton. I am sure he will do well for Manchester United as well.

"The training has been as sharp as nails. There is that willingness to impress.
"That is the case with all the players, not just myself. Every training session has been very competitive."

Moyes has reiterated that Wayne Rooney is not for sale, and said the striker is on track to make his
comeback in Sweden next month.

United have already turned down one bid from Chelsea for Rooney, although it is expected Jose Mourinho will be back with another long before the transfer window closes.

Rooney did not do much to dampen down speculation over his future by heading to the south east for a round of golf at a course close to the Chelsea training ground at the weekend.

United's expectation remains that Rooney, having had treatment for a hamstring injury, will be in Stockholm for the friendly against AIK Solna on August 6.

''We have said and the club have said he is not for sale,'' said Moyes. ''That has not changed.
''I do expect Wayne to be in Stockholm. As far as I know he is coming on. 'He has started light jogging and the feedback from the physios is that he is progressing."

Messi influenced Barca's call Martino

Gerardo Martino recieves a joining letter from barcelona as a coach. He believes a recommendation from fellow Argentine Lionel Messi was behind his surprise appointment as Barcelona coach on Monday.

"The details of how the situation developed I don't know (but) I have no doubt Jorge (Messi's father) and Lionel had some influence," Martino, the former Paraguay coach, told in a conference in Rosario.

"I'm sure they were asked their opinion and we've come to this outcome," added Martino, who comes from Rosario.

Martino, who led Newell's Old Boys to the Argentine "Final" championship last month, added: "I was expecting some job proposals and I can't say I was expecting this one." He is surprised by the barca move but he is ready and accept this one.

"The situation was unexpected and of course it took me by surprise," added Martino, who quit Newell's after they lost their Libertadores Cup semi-final two weeks ago by Atletico Mineiro.

Barcelona went in search of a new coach after Tito Vilanova had to step aside to undergo more treatment for throat cancer.

"This is a very important job opportunity which came about due to a very unfortunate occurrence (Vilanova's illness)," Martino said.

"I'm very grateful they considered me, my staff and my work. The quality of the Barcelona squad, with Messi, is something any coach desires.

"I'm sure in our day-to-day work we'll find ways to support Messi so he continues to be the extraordinary player he is."

Martino, who will travel to Barcelona on Thursday, said he hoped to be up to the high demands
of coaching one of the world's best club sides.

"We'll try to fit in quickly... Barcelona is an institution that has a way of life, a footballing development. We are the ones who are going to step into that world."

One of Martino's staff is Adrian Coria, the man credited with discovering and coaching Messi from the age of 11 to 13 at Newell's.

Martino misses Barcelona's friendly on Wednesday against European champions Bayern Munich, now under the Spanish giants' former coach Pep Guardiola.

Saturday's friendly with Norway's Valerenga in Oslo could be his debut on the bench.

Kagawa returned to Japan to join play for Manchester United

Manchester United's Shinji Kagawa promised on Monday to pull out all the stops against Yokohama Marinos, in his first game at his home ground since he joined the English Premier League.

"I'm really happy that I can play a game in Japan as one of the players of a great team like Manchester United. I expect many supporters will come. I want to show them an excellent game," said Shinji Kagawa.

Shinji Kagawa also wants to impress United's new manager David Moyes, whom he met for the first time on Monday. As he also wants to join United.

"We still need more time to get to know each other, but I'm looking forward to building up our relations," he said.

"As a player, I feel every game is important and I want to give my very best to give a good impression to the coach." said Kagawa

United play Yokohama on Tuesday and Cerezo Osaka on Friday after losing to Singha All-Stars 1-0 in Bangkok in the opening game of their Asian tour.

Moyes said he knows a little about Kagawa as a player and had discussed him with his predecessor at United, Sir Alex Ferguson.

"Sir Alex spoke in glowing terms about Shinji and how good a player he is. I've just met him today, so we're getting to know each other. I'm trying to learn Japanese and he's trying to understand my Scottish," Moyes joked.

"It was his first season in the Premier League last year. He's a young player so we hope his development continues." Moyes is also looking for Kagawa to join Manchester United.

David Moyes second bid for Cesc Febregas

Manchester United manager David Moyes on Monday revealed he has stepped up his pursuit of Cesc Fabregas after making a second bid for the Barcelona midfielder.

United manager Moyes said at a press conference at Yokohama’s Nissan Stadium today that chief executive Ed Woodward is still in touch with the Spanish club about Fabregas after submitting a second bid thought to be in excess of £30million, which would be a new club record.

Moyes is determined to do everything he can to lure Fabregas back to the Premier League as he seeks a marquee signing to mark his arrival at Old Trafford.

And the former Everton boss, appointed as Alex Ferguson's successor at the end of last season, said at a press conference in Yokohama on Monday that a second improved offer, believed to be in the region of £30 million ($46 million, 34 million euros), has now been lodged.

United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward returned to England ahead of schedule last Wednesday to lead the Fabregas negotiations and Moyes said: "As I understand it, Ed had a response (to the first offer). We have made a second offer but Ed is dealing with it rather than me."

Moyes has yet to bring in a major signing, with his only deal so far the capture of Uruguay Under-20 star Guillermo Varela.

But, with reports from Spain suggesting Barca will not make a decision on Fabregas until they appoint a successor to coach Tito Vilanova, Moyes acknowledged there may come a time when he has to turn to other targets.

"I think a point does come," said Moyes. "But when you are interested in good players you want to give it every opportunity to materialise.

"I will hope things will continue to move forward.

"At this moment in time I can only tell you Ed Woodward is working hard to try and make the deals happen. We hope some of them will fall into place shortly."

Moyes has also been linked with moves for Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo and Tottenham winger Gareth Bale, plus raiding his old club Everton for Leighton Baines and Marouane Fellaini.

So far though he has been frustrated, with new Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti on Sunday making it clear he doesn't expect Ronaldo to rejoin United.

And Moyes, who is also fighting to persuade Wayne Rooney to snub advances from Chelsea, admitted he can understand why some fans are nervous about the lack of fresh faces as the champions gear up for the first season of the post-Ferguson era.

"I can understand that feeling," he said. "But there have been quite a few changes. Other managers have changed their clubs too and everybody thought this might be the summer when transfers are done later in the month.

"That was always the thought I had when I came into the club.

"You have to remember I only started on July 1, so in truth I have only been in the job three weeks at this present time."

Ronaldinho on the way to join selected group of players

Ronaldinho is only one match away from joining a select group of players who have won the European Champions League and the Libertadores Cup, its South American equivalent, although his world cup dream looks distant.

The two times fifa player of the year and 33 year old magician returned to Brazil in January 2011 after a slump in his European career with two objectives - to win a place in his country's 2014 World Cup team and claim the club titles missing from his trophy cabinet.

On Wednesday, his Atletico Mineiro team will try to overturn a 2-0 first-leg deficit in the second leg of the Libertadores Cup final at home to Olimpia of Paraguay in Belo Horizonte
.
Having inspired Barcelona to the Champions League crown in 2006, Ronaldinho hopes to join Brazilians Dida, Cafu and Roque Junior and Argentines Carlos Tevez, Walter Samuel and Juan Pablo Sorin as champions on the two continents. He said" winning newer trophies is made me a child again, and i am more curious towards winning it."

The match is Ronaldinho's best chance to ensure his return to Brazilian football is not seen as a failure after a string of disappointments.

Flamengo brought the twice FIFA World Player of the Year back hoping the deal would have advantages on the field as well as marketing benefits off it, but the project sunk.

Ronaldinho spent a troubled 17 months at the Rio club, where he suffered a loss of form blamed on his party lifestyle, Also he was not payed his previous 4 months income.

In that time, Flamengo only won the minor Carioca (Rio) state championship and Ronaldinho left in May 2012 with the club owing him back wages.

For Brazil, with whom he won the World Cup in 2002 and also played at the 2006 finals, Ronaldinho appears to have lost his best chance of impressing coach Luiz Felipe Scolari and dropped out of the reckoning for next year's home finals.

Thanks to good club performances, especially in the Libertadores Cup, Ronaldinho earned a recall in April for a friendly against Chile at the Mineirao, the newly-refurbished stadium in Atletico's home city Belo Horizonte.

On top of a lacklustre performance in a 2-2 draw, Ronaldinho was not forgiven by disciplinarian Scolari for turning up late on the first day of training.

"You invite me to lunch at your home. I get to your house and you're not there. I wait and you, the host, are the last to arrive. The national team goes to the dining table and the last one to arrive? The host, that's not right," Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) chief Jose Maria Marin said in a recent interview with Globo Network.

Ronaldinho was left out of Brazil's squad for the Confederations Cup last month and is unlikely to find a place in a team that won the title crushing world champions Spain in the final.
His talent, however, has never been in doubt and he hopes to shine in the Libertadores Cup final.

"Nothing is greater than the will to bring the title to the 'Galo'," Ronaldinho said on Twitter using Atletico's nickname 'Cockerel'.

Chelsea is confident that Wayne Rooney will never wear red again

The price of Wayne Rooney's transfer is almost agreed.

Chelsea believe it is only matter of time before Wayne Rooney will wear blue.
But blues are resigned to not playing Rooney in time for him to return to Old Trafford in a blues shirt on August 26.

The Stamford Bridge club will table a second bid of 24 million euros this week and feel they can get their man for around 30 million euro mark.
Jose Mourinho has made Rooney his prime target, with Chelsea board confident the Scouse ace will not wear red again.

If the Reds are successful in their ongoing quest to land Cesc Fabregas from Barcelona, Chelsea expect United will be able to ‘sell’ his arrival as an ‘upgrade’ to justify the departure of Rooney to SW6.

But United boss David Moyes will not want his first home game as Sir Alex Ferguson’s successor to be overshadowed by Rooney’s return to Manchester.

And while Chelsea feel the champions have no option but to sell before the transfer window shuts on September 2, they are willing to have to wait until the final days to get their man.

Blues boss Mourinho stuck to his strict “no comment” policy on Rooney after last night’s 4-1 win over Malaysia in the Shah Alam Stadium on the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur.
And the special one, relieved that his worst fears over Belgiumsheme Kevin De Bruyne's knee injury were not realised, suggestedd Romelu Lukaku can start the season rather Fernando Torres.

Lukaku, returned to chelsea, as he was taken on loan by West Brom  and scored 17 goals their, and more importantly he terrified the Malaysians by his pace and power.
He also set up De Bruyne's stunner and Mourinho said : "Lukaku had a fantastic manager last session. It's up to the kid, but he's open and intelligent to learn the kind of movement we want.

“Of course he can challenge Torres. The role he played was the right movement. We don’t want the striker just aiming between the central defenders, but making movements, sometimes between midfield or moving wide."

Asked if he saw resemblances with a younger Didier Drogba, Mourinho said: “We have to respect them both. The best way to do that is not compare Lukaku to a legend. Leave Didier where he is, at the top of Chelsea’s history, and leave Lukaku to work hard. The kid is good.”

Another “good kid” is 17-year-old trialist Bertrand Traore, who scored the opener from De Bruyne’s pull-back, with Victor Moses also netting late-on.

The Burkina Faso youngster is still on a student visa but Chelsea fear he will not get a work permit when he turns 18 in September.

“Those are the rules in England, and we have to accept them,” said Mourinho. “We’ll try to get the permit for him when he becomes 18. If it’s not possible we have to let him go on loan somewhere. Sooner or later the committee has to give him a permit to play here.”

On De Bruyne, finally promised a chance after spending 18 months on loan at Genk and Werder Bremen, Mourinho said: “When he was on the floor, everyone on the bench thought the worst.”

De Bruyne will be assessed today. The Belgian tweeted: “Knee and ankle feeling OK. Always stay positive. Waiting for tomorrow. Then we will know more."

Atletico Mineiro Loses 1st leg of Copa Libertadores final

Atletico Mineiro loses their first leg of finals by 1-0 on 18th July. Not the start wanted by the Brazilians, they get a foot back in the competition. As now they will look for winning the 2nd leg of finals on 24th July.

As the Brazilian giants are the favorites to lift the trophy for the first time in their history, but they'll go home as undergoes after a poor result in Paraguay.

There was a stoppage early in the match after Atletico Mineiro teammates Pierre and Josue collided, resulting in the former player picking up a nasty cut. Thankfully, he was back on the pitch shortly and was able to finish the match.

Diego Tardelli had a goal disallowed in the 6th minute, and perhaps incorrectly. He was ruled offside on the goal even though he looked to be level with the defense when the ball was played into him and an Olimpia defender misplayed the ball, touching it into his path before the flag went up. The linesman apparently missed the touch and Atletico Mineiro had a seemingly good goal taken off the board.

Olimpia took advantage of their good fortune in the 22nd minute and went ahead 1-0, thanks to Alejandro Silva. Tardelli had a big hand in the goal, defending Silva lazily and letting the Olimpia man blow past him on the right wing. Silva cut inside and blew by a couple more defenders before placing a low shot to the near post from just outside the penalty area. Unfortunately for his club, Silva took off his shirt in celebration and was shown a yellow card. That booking will keep him out of the second leg of the final.

While Atletico Mineiro were the more threatening team for the rest of the first half and in the early part of the second half, they were unable to turn their chances into goals. Olimpia goalkeeper Martin Silva was excellent on the night, making five crucial saves.

In the 64th minute, with Atletico Mineiro needing a bit of a spark, Cuca took off a very ineffective Ronaldinho. Unsurprisingly, Ronaldinho was displeased with the decision and gave his manager a nasty look as he walked off the pitch.

Fredy Bareiro should have doubled his team's lead in the 82nd minute, but failed to direct his shot on target from six yards while facing an open net. He likely would have caught quite a bit of heat for his miss had the game ended 1-0 or worse for Olimpia, but he'd eventually get bailed out by a series of events in the closing minutes of the game.

Atletico Mineiro fullback Richarlyson, a notorious hothead, picked up his second yellow card of the match and was sent off in the 90th minute. With a man advantage, Olimpia pushed hard for a second goal in stoppage time and would eventually get it in dramatic fashion. Rever took down Enzo Prono 20 yards from goal in the 93rd minute, just as the referee was preparing to blow his whistle. Wilson Pittoni stepped up and curled a perfect free kick past Victor and a defender on the near post, doubling his team's lead and giving them an even bigger cushion heading to Minas Gerais.

Barcelona agreed to transfer Villa to Atletico Madrid

Barcelona have reached on an agreement with David Villa move to Atletico Madrid.

The La Liga champions announced on their website that the deal will cost up to 5.1million euros (4.4million) with Barca receiving 50 per cent of any future transfer fee.

The 31-year-old Spain international joined Barca from Valencia in 2010 but has been wildly linked with a move away from the Nou Camp over recent months after struggling to tie down a first-team berth at the Catalan club last season.

Barca announced in a statement on their website: "Barca and the Madrid club have reached an agreement in principle for the transfer of the Asturian player.

"The deal will cost a maximum of 5.1million euros, with 2.1million this season, 2million more if the player is still at Atletico Madrid in the 2014/15 season and another million if he stays until the 2015/16 season.

"As well as that, Barca have reserved 50 per cent of the rights of any future transfer of the player."

Monday's announcement comes after Barca last month completed the signing of Brazil superstar forward Neymar in a 57million euros transfer from Santos, bolstering an attack that also includes Lionel Messi, Pedro Rodriguez and Alexis Sanchez.

Villa, who had been linked with a number of Barclays Premier League sides, joined Barca in a 40 million euros deal from Valencia in the summer of 2010, penning a four-year contract at the Nou Camp.

During his three years with the Catalan club, Spain's record goalscorer played 119 official games and scored 48 goals.
However, he spent eight months on the sidelines after suffering a broken leg during the Club World Cup in December 2011, forcing him to miss the second half of the 2011/12 season for Barca and also Spain's successful Euro 2012 campaign.

He made his Barca comeback in a pre-season friendly against Dinamo Bucharest last August and would go on to start 24 matches in all competitions for Tito Vilanova's men in the 2012/13 season with a further 16 appearances off the bench, scoring 16 goals.

Villa will leave Barca having helped the club win eight trophies in three years, including two Primera Division crowns and the 2011 Champions League.

It could be that one of Villa's first competitive games for Atletico will be against Barca, with the Copa del Rey winners meeting the La Liga champions in the Spanish Supercopa in August.
Atletico also confirmed the deal for Villa, who has scored 56 goals in 92 internationals for Spain, in a statement on their official website.

It read: "Atletico Madrid and Barcelona have reached an agreement in principle for the transfer of striker David Villa.

"This agreement will be consolidated once the Asturian player undertakes his medical and signs his contract with our club."

Messi grateful for Ronaldinho's influence

Messi express his gratitude towards Ronaldinho for helping him in the start of his carrer at Barcelona.

Messi was promoted to the Barcelona first-team in 2004 as a 17-year-old and he revealed that Ronaldinho's welcoming presence was a key factor in helping him ease into life in the top flight.

He told Barca TV: I've always said, since the first moment I walked in the locker room, Ronaldinho and other Brazilians, Deco, Sylvinho and [Thiago] Motta welcomed me and provided me things, but mostly he (Ronaldinho), and I learned a lot at his side."

"It was a big help. It's never easy to go into a locker room as a teenager and Ronaldinho made everything easier. I was fortunate to live near him and share many things with him. I can say that he is a great person and that's the most important thing."

Messi also hailed Ronaldinho's role in sparking off Barcelona's successful era in the 2000s after a barren spell in the 1990s.

He continued: "Ronaldinho was responsible for changing the club. The club was going through a bad spell but it changed with his arrival.

"During the first year we did not win anything but people loved him. Later came the titles and he made all those people happy. I believe that Barca should be forever grateful for everything he did."

Kaka's future at Real Madrid

Former World player of the year Kaka was out of form from last 2-3 years.
Kaka was signed in 62 million euros from AC Milan and he had failed all the expectation for which he was transfer.
Perez defended Kaka and said the former great player will be back this season.

He started just 14 games in all competitions last season and further question marks about his future have been raised since the club signed attacking midfielder Isco.

Speaking during an interview with Gol Caracol de Colombia, Perez defended the signing of Kaka, pointing to the player's marketing appeal. He also highlighted the difficult circumstances he has had to cope with at Madrid, and said he hopes he will experience a resurgence in form next season, when he will get the chance to work again with Carlo Ancelotti, his former coach at Milan.

He said: "Kaka is a phenomenon, but he got injured in the last World Cup and had to have an operation on his knee.

"Then [Mesut] Ozil arrived and took his place in the team from him, but he is still one of the greats of the game. He is the second most followed footballer on Twitter, after Cristiano Ronaldo.

"He is charming and excites the fans. I'm optimistic that, under Ancelotti, who knows him very well, he can be the same magical Kaka again that we signed."

On Friday, Madrid completed the signing of 23-year-old Asier Illarramendi from Real Sociedad, the fourth player under the age of 24 that Madrid have bought this summer.

The president explained why Madrid have looked to youth.

"We have signed young players that are hungry to achieve and that's vital so that our established players don't get too comfortable. That mix of youth and experience will raise the team's quality," Perez said.

And he looked forward to the new season with Ancelotti in charge, adding: "We are beginning a new era after Mourinho's departure. We have another coach, who is also very demanding, and we are very excited."

Ivanovich had no problem with Suarez

Ivanovic would be happy if Suarez would play for Chelsea, he said he would welcome Suarez at Chelsea.

Suarez was banned for 10 matches after putting his teeth into Ivanovic during a Barclays Premier League clash in April and has been linked with a move away from Anfield, with Stamford Bridge rumoured to be among his possible destinations.

"About Luis Suarez, I said straight after the game, whatever happened on the field finished there," Ivanovic said in Bangkok on Tuesday.

"He's one of the best strikers in the Premier League. I don't have any problem with him."

Ivanovic has been linked himself with a move, with big-spending Ligue 1 clubs Paris St Germain and Monaco apparently courting the Serbia defender's signature.

The 29-year-old downplayed the prospect of a transfer ahead of Jose Mourinho's first match of his second spell in charge, the Bangkok clash with Singha All-Stars which comes a week into pre-season preparations.
"The first thing, we are a little bit too far from reality," Ivanovic said.

"We are not so focused on that kind of thing.
"For us, the most important thing is to pass this base, which is very important for every single player for the beginning of the season.

"My situation, I've always said I'm happy to be here.
"I will do everything and will work hard to do everything for the club. Nothing will change until the last day I'm here."

David Beckham not keen to become coach

Retired soccer champion David Beckham says he is in no mood to either coach any team or even manage it.
Beckham announced retirement from football in May this year. Even though his fans expected him to take up the role of a coach, he does not wish to do so.

"Management has never interested me at all, I must admit. In five or 10 years, I might turn around and say 'I actually fancy management', but I don't think that's ever going to happen. I enjoy other stuff more," said Beckham.

Liverpool Luis Suarez will be in contact all summer trasfer

Luis Suarez has been in almost constant contact with his Liverpool superiors this summer, according to a report from the Liverpool Echo on Friday. But while that revelation provides interesting context for Suarez's transfer saga, it probably will not alter the outcome one way or the other.

Here's the skinny, from Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers as quoted by the Echo:

We’re communicating in some way with him nearly every day—either through text or conversation—and I hope he stays. I really do.

Over the course of the last few months and towards the end of last season there was a lot of speculation about Luis because of his situation and what happened (the Ivanovic biting incident) but the fact is we value the player – he had a terrific season for us and showed his qualities.

I’m in regular communication with him both through texts and conversations on the phone. He’s an absolute magician on the football field and a very valued player by us.

Coincidentally, Suarez himself had something to say recently about phone conversations. In a recent radio interview cited by the Echo this week, the Uruguayan striker said he would turn up for preseason training July 21 but quickly suggested that there's more to the story.

“In football you never know what is going to happen. A phone call can change everything," he said. “There are a few options and the club knows that. Are there any concrete options? No, so far there hasn’t been any. There are two or three clubs who I think are willing and the club knows that.”

As anyone who has followed Suarez this summer already knows, those were hardly his first or most provocative comments.

In May, after receiving a 10-match ban for biting Chelsea's Branislav Ivanovic, Suarez confirmed his desire to leave Liverpool. While doing so, he complained about the supposedly poor treatment he has received from the British media. He also batted his eyelashes at Real Madrid, saying it would be hard to turn down the Spanish club.

More recently, Liverpool turned down Arsenal's £30 million bid for Suarez, per the Telegraph.

That brings us back to Rodgers' comments.

It appears that while Suarez was running his mouth about Real Madrid, the British media and those "two or three clubs" that could be interested in him, he was also speaking to his manager almost every day.

None of that should be surprising, of course. The man is serving a 10-match suspension for biting a fellow professional, and he's also served time for directing a racially charged word at Manchester United's Patrice Evra. Suarez might be many things, but one thing he's not is a timid wallflower.

Beyond that, the story also hints at how much Liverpool want to keep Suarez. Through all the drama and all the interviews and all the speculation and all the rumors, Rodgers has remained in contact with his mercurial striker "nearly every day." When Rodgers says he wants to keep Suarez, he clearly means it.

One thing this news doesn't do is change much of anything. It is true that Liverpool would be in a worse situation if Suarez had remained out of contact all summer. But if Liverpool receive the right offer—the Mirror suggests that would be £40 million—Suarez will be out the door regardles

Will Ronaldo move to United this summer

Sometimes reunions aren't always the best thing.

Until Cristiano Ronaldo signs on the dotted line of his new contract at Real Madrid, rumors of his exit will not cease.

Simon Stone of the Press Association (via the Daily Mail) is the latest to get in on the fun:

Manchester United are ready to splurge on a world class player like Cristiano Ronaldo or Gareth Bale, after the club admitted they would back David Moyes if he wants to sign a 'stellar player' this summer.

New manager Moyes has only made one signing so far this summer, with Guillermo Varela joining for an undisclosed fee.

But the club's chief executive Ed Woodward insists the resources are there to recruit top-drawer talent and said they are 'absolutely' able to compete for players in the £60million-£70million bracket.

'We haven't got money burning a hole in our pocket but we have got a strategy on player purchases and if David wants to go after a stellar player he can do that,' he said.

Assuming a long-term deal is on the way at Madrid, why would Ronaldo want to move to Old Trafford?

He had a very successful run there and holds United close to his heart, as evidenced by his goal celebration, or lack thereof, when he scored against the Red Devils in the Champions League.

Supporters often overstate how much footballers think about and value loyalty. How many big stars have pledged their loyalty to a club, only to move within the year?

Footballers want to be comfortable and loved at a club, but they don't value that over getting more money and playing for a bigger club. They put their careers first and leave emotions at the door. You cannot really blame them because just about any professional would leave a job for more money and a better situation.

When you compare Real Madrid and Manchester United, the Spanish club gets the edge.

Despite winning the Premier League, the future is still a bit in doubt at Old Trafford.

Sir Alex Ferguson leaves a long shadow—it's always hard to replace a legend. Look how long it took United to become successful again after Matt Busby's departure. David Moyes has done well at Everton, but whether he can carry that over to Manchester United is still very much up in the air.
He has never been in a situation like this before; playing for the title and playing for a place in the top eight are two very different things. Then, there's the cauldron that is the Champions League.

Plus, you've got Chelsea bringing in Jose Mourinho and Manchester City hiring Manuel Pellegrini. Both of those are upgrades from their predecessors, and should mean Chelsea and City are much more competitive in the Premier League next year.

Until Moyes proves himself, it's probably better to stay away from United.

Real Madrid, on the other hand, are only strengthening this summer. Carlo Ancelotti should be a much more calming presence in the dressing room, far from the polarizing figure Mourinho was. Ancelotti knows how to handle a lot of big stars, and he won't try to become bigger than the club.
He was just about the most optimal replacement for the "Special One."

Then, you've also got the mess that Barcelona look to be right now. The Catalans have done nothing to address their problems at the back. Meanwhile, they've got their former manager criticizing the club's board, per The Guardian. Thiago Alcantara has left, per The Telegraph, and Cesc Fabregas might be on the way out as well, per the BBC's Ben Smith.

All of that spells good things for Real Madrid as they can sit back and watch Barcelona implode from within. Los Blancos are always going to finish in the top two of La Liga, and you've got to favor them right now to win the league next year.

The chances of Madrid winning their domestic league are certainly greater than those of United winning their domestic league. If Ronaldo wants to put himself in the best position to win, he should stay at Madrid.

The one edge that United could get is financially. However, The Telegraph's Mark Ogden reported last week that Florentino Perez was planning on making Ronaldo the highest-paid footballer in the world. If that comes to fruition, the Red Devils would lose all of their bargaining power.

This isn't a time to let sentimentality cloud what would be the much better career move for Ronaldo: staying at Real Madrid.

Rooney is faceing a loosing battle

The words from Manchester United to Wayne Rooney could not be more emphatic: this club is bigger than any player.

Both manager David Moyes and chief executive Ed Woodward placed the ball back in the forward's court over his future at Old Trafford.

The United boss, who oversaw a 1-0 defeat to Singha All Stars XI in his first match in charge on Saturday in Thailand, said Robin van Persie was his first-choice striker for the defence of the Premier League title next season, as Steve Bates of the Sunday People reported.

Wayne’s got a major part to play because we need to try and get him as many goals as we possibly can.

Overall, my thought on Wayne is that if for any reason we had an injury to Robin van Persie we are going to need him and I want as many options as possible.

It’s going to be a time to see how I work with him. Wayne, in a way, fits that as well. We need to see how it works. Maybe in a year’s time we might have to look at something else

Manchester United isn’t about Wayne Rooney. Manchester United is about the team, the club.

We are talking about him now, and rightly so, but I won’t allow Wayne Rooney to become more important than the football club.

However, it is the words from Woodward, as reported by Sky Sports, which hold the true strength of the message to Rooney, who has two years left on his current contract.

No contract renewals are being discussed. I am not sitting down with any player on an extension and there is no trigger date in the diary.

Would we be afraid to run a contract down? Of course not.

Effectively, the England international has been placed on probation for a year, and playing understudy to Robin Van Persie during that time is not where Rooney will have envisaged himself.

Following his move from Everton in the summer of 2004, Rooney immediately became one of the core figures in the Old Trafford team.

Adored by the supporters, his name was one of the first on the team sheet, but now the forward is a relatively peripheral figure with Moyes highlighting his name as cover for Van Persie.

That is not the situation Rooney will have been looking for after former United boss Sir Alex Ferguson claimed the player had submitted a second transfer request before the end of the last Premier League campaign.

Rooney has denied making this second request after originally asking for a transfer in October 2010, and was looking for an apology over Ferguson's comments, as Steve Bates of the Sunday People reported last month.

Ferguson might not be the manager of the club any more, but he is remaining at Old Trafford in a boardroom role. And if one man can claim to have an influence at the club, it could only be the man who guided the team to so much silverware during his tenure.

According to David Maddock of the Daily Mirror on July 2, Ferguson has also been highlighting that, at 27, Rooney is at an age which should be maximised in the transfer market.

Questions were raised over Rooney' future when Moyes was appointed to succeed Ferguson, following the Scot's successful libel court case against the striker in June 2008, as BBC News reported.

But Moyes has consistently maintained that Rooney is part of his plans for United and issued a "not for sale" notice on the forward in his first press conference after succeeding Ferguson, as Phil McNulty of BBC Sport reported.

The question over Rooney's future, though, has refused to go away and Moyes barely disguised his frustration at being quizzed on the issue again ahead of the friendly in Bangkok at the weekend after Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho had expressed his admiration for the player, as Tony Banks and Richard Tanner of the Daily Express reported.

Rooney, of course, had returned to England due to a hamstring injury before the opening match of the tour and will be out of action for a month, as Jamie Jackson of The Guardian reported, but the shadow of his future hangs over the current tour.
Moyes has already displayed exasperation in a press conference at being asked persistently about the forward. There is little chance he will not be asked again after arriving in Australia for next week's match against an A-League All Stars team in Melbourne.

For Moyes, this is a relatively new experience after 11 years at Everton, where the media spotlight is not as intense as it is at Old Trafford. But the current furore will act as a vital learning curve for the United boss.

Rooney has not been short of links with other clubs this summer. Arsenal remain the only club to have made an official move for the striker, as Simon Mullock of the Sunday Mirror reported, while Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid have also been credited with an interest, according to Sami Mokbel of the Daily Mail.

There is no dearth of interest in the former Everton striker. In fact, it is arguable that the only place where he, seemingly, isn't coveted is Old Trafford.

The ball has been returned to Rooney's court with gathering top-spin and force. Rooney's only answer has to be smashing the return into the net and asking for an official transfer.

Wayne Rooney is in a battle he will not win. It is time to move on and accept the defeat in order to restore his credibility and form elsewhere.

Manchester United bid for Barcelona's superstar Febregas

Manchester United will bid  25 million euros for Barcelona midfielder Cesc Febregas, according to a Sky Sports citing unnamed sources. As ever, with  any transfer news, many details and potential problems would have to be worked out before a deal could be completed. With that bieng said, if it does not happen, the signing would represent a pressure-easing coup for new United manager Moyes.

Let's not underestimate the obstacles, though. They could be formidable.
As Sky Sports reports, Cesc is keen to stay in Catalonia and is contracted to Barcelona until June 2016, per TransferMarkt. He came through the ranks of Barcelona's youth system and made a tearful return to the club two years ago after leaving Arsenal.
Then there's the Arsenal question. Multiple reports, including this 2011 item from the Telegraph, claim that Arsenal have first option on re-signing Cesc. In addition, the Gunners would receive 50 percent of the fee if Barcelona do sell.
Meanwhile, according to The Independent, the Gunners could lodge a £25 million bid for the midfielder after he endured a frustrating 2012-13 season at Barcelona.
In addition, Fabregas likely is not United's top target, as a separate article from The Independent suggests. Having missed out on Barcelona's Thiago Alcantara, who has signed instead with Bayern Munich, United are now turning to Fabregas.
Fabregas will likely know that, but it's unclear whether that would matter to him. What's more clear is that, as second choices go, Cesc is an outstanding one.
Thiago might have been United's first choice, but Cesc's previous experience in the Premier League might make him the better choice. The midfielder made more than 200 appearances for Arsenal from 2003 to 2011, ascending to captain before his departure. While last season was a frustrating one for Fabregas at Barca, he still managed 11 goals and 11 assists in league play.
Moving to United would probably mean more starts and playing time for Cesc, who would also reunite with former teammate Robin van Persie (another former Arsenal captain). For United, meanwhile, it would mean a marquee signing for Moyes as he begins the impossible task of succeeding Sir Alex Ferguson as manager.
No matter how Moyes fares in his tenure at Old Trafford, he will almost certainly accomplish less than Ferguson. Signing a player like Fabregas, who has succeeded in the Premier League, would ease some of the pressure Moyes will inevitably face.
It would be a bold move, and a positive one at that. With Wayne Rooney's future uncertain, most of the recent transfer news surrounding United has struck a negative note. A successful move for Cesc would change all that.
United might have missed out on their first choice, but their second might turn into the better option anyway.

Arsenal win by 7-0 in Brazil style away kit Asian tour opener

Arsenal donned their new, Brazil-style away kit and played like five-time world champions as they blew away the Indonesia Dream Team 7-0 at the start of their Asian tour on Sunday.

Unveiling their yellow shirts and blue shorts in Jakarta, academy whizz-kids Chuba Akpom and Kristoffer Olsson scored on their first-team debuts as Arsenal poured on six goals after half-time.

England striker Theo Walcott got the opener on 19 minutes, Olivier Giroud grabbed a rapid-fire double and Lukas Podolski and fringe midfielder Thomas Eisfeld both scored late on.

Fittingly for the occasion, it was exhibition stuff and eclipsed English champions Manchester United, who lost 1-0 to the Singha All-Star XI in Bangkok in their first game under new boss David Moyes on Saturday.

Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea all have new managers this season, giving Arsenal hope that their stability under Arsene Wenger can finally help them end an eight-year trophy drought.

"It was a good game tonight, good technical skill. We could test some young players tonight," said Wenger.

"It's a positive night in a friendly environment. We were welcomed fantastically. I felt a little bit like we played like at home, such big support."

The yellow-shirted visitors laid siege to the Dream Team goal from the start and academy striker Akpom, 17, passed up two good chances in the early minutes.

Akpom was only denied by some last-ditch defending when Aaron Ramsey's dangerous ball to the far post was nodded back into the six-yard box by Walcott, playing on the right of attack.

The opener never looked far away and Walcott duly slotted it from the edge of the box on 19 minutes after neat skills from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, in a strike which was warmly applauded by Wenger.

Akpom was left frustrated when Oxlade-Chamberlain took on and missed a difficult shot into an empty net rather than pass to his team-mate for what would have been the simplest of debut goals.

Serge Gnabry, another youngster hoping to impress Wenger, was also doing his career prospects no harm and he nearly doubled Arsenal's lead with a strong run and shot on 37 minutes.

The Dream Team were largely chasing shadows but they escaped to half-time without further damage -- before the floodgates opened as Wenger threw on first-team regulars including Podolski, Giroud and Tomas Rosicky.

Gnabry laid on Akpom's goal, a tap-in, after another marauding run down the left flank. Giroud also got off the mark from close range, on 70 minutes, before turning and blasting his second just three minutes later.

The inexperienced Dream Team were given some unsporting boos by the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium crowd as they ran out of legs against the Premier League outfit.

And Arsenal finished with a flourish of three goals inside the last seven minutes, starting with Podolski who received the ball from Tomas Rosicky and drilled home a left-footed shot in the 83rd.

Two minutes later, Swedish 18-year-old Olsson's goal also came courtesy of Rosicky and Eisfeld then smashed in the final strike off the underside of the bar to bring up Arsenal's seventh. Arsenal next head to Hanoi -- where they will become the first Premier League team to play in Vietnam -- and then to Japan, where their visit includes a game against Wenger's former club, Nagoya Grampus.

Bayern signed Spain U-21 Thiago

Bayern snap up Spain U-21 midfielder Thiago

European champions Bayern Munich have strengthened their midfield by agreeing to buy sought - after Spain Under-21 international Thiago Alcantara from Barcelona for a fee of 25 million euros.
Thiago, 22, who will join up again with former Barca coach Pep Guardiola in Munich, will have a medical in the next few days before signing a four-year contract, Bayern said on their website (www.fcbayern.telekom.de) on Sunday.
Barca also confirmed the deal, which it said included a friendly between the two clubs sometime in the next four years.
Bayern said 5 million euros of the transfer fee would come partly from income from the match and partly from Thiago agreeing to forego some wages.
"Thiago Alcantara was the great wish of our new coach Pep Guardiola," Bayern chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said.
"We are delighted that we have been able to seal this great transfer," added the former Bayern and Germany player.
"He is a fantastic player with great promise who will strengthen FC Bayern."
A graduate of Barca's youth academy, Thiago was seen as a possible successor to Xavi in central midfield but media reports said he was frustrated at a lack of playing time and he attracted the attention of several of Europe's wealthiest clubs.
His brilliant captain's performance in last month's European Under-21 championship final, when he netted a hat-trick in Spain's 4-2 win over Italy, only boosted his profile and he was named player of the tournament by UEFA.
While still not the finished article, he has the same ability as Xavi, who turned 33 in January, to dictate play, is blessed with superb distribution and close-control skills, is a tenacious tackler and has a burst of pace that can take him gliding past a marker.
Born in Bari, Italy, he is the son of former Brazil midfielder Mazinho, who played in the 1994 World Cup-winning side, and has a younger brother Rafinha, also a midfielder, in the Barca B team.
Thiago made 15 starts in La Liga as Barca won the title last season, two appearances in the Champions League and seven in the King's Cup. He has also played three times for the senior Spain side but missed out on a place at the Confederations Cup.
